Reindeer Round up

Today I was invited to a reindeer round up. This is where the local Sami families round the reindeer in up from a very large area and take them into a corral to be sorted out.
There was around 1000 reindeer which were then sorted out by the families. This is very much a social event with whole families attending and helping. It is a tradition that goes back centuries and it was a privilege to be there to see the round up.
